Every year, the MFRE awards students who stood out as positive leaders through their studies in the MFRE program. The recipients are nominated by their classmates and the faculty due to their motivation, hard work, dedication and positive outlook. The MFRE awards each recipient with up to $1,000 to support their professional development.

During the 2018-2019 academic year, two students stood out due to their constant smiles and diligent work. During the last MFRE graduation reception, the program director delivered them their awards amidst classmates, friends and family.


Van Nguyen

Van was nominated due to her diligence, high-quality standards and fantastic detail in her work. She inspired her classmates to add extra effort to their and raise their own standards in their assignments. However, not only was her work the only inspiration that she provided to her cohort. Her constant smiling and positive attitude towards life and difficulties have also taught them to see adversity with positivity.

Ely Weisbrot

Many professors saw Ely as a positive leader since he always produced quality work, as well as showing curiosity and engaging in class. He became a role model for many classmates. The cohort appreciated his kindness, generosity and eagerness to help. He helps the cohort keep a good attitude in and out of the classroom with his positivity and constant smile.
