David Tsui joined Global Affairs Canada in 2015 and is a Deputy Director of Global Affairs Canada. He leads a team of twenty trade commissioners to help BC-based companies grow, invest and go global. He has held multiple posts in the Government of Canada including at the Privy Council Office under Prime Ministers Paul Martin and Stephen Harper, and at Canadian Heritage where he worked on the 2010 Winter Olympics. Internationally, David took on special advisory roles in Washington DC and the Silicon Valley to advance Canadian interests in such areas as quantum computing and digital technologies. As a former Senior Advisor at Innovation, Science & Economic Development, he supported the response to the 2007 financial crisis and developed a new China strategy in response to its recent rise. David is a graduate of the University of British Columbia in Economics and Political Science. He has enjoyed living in Hong Kong during some of the region's golden era where he studied and worked in finance.
