We had a very promising start this year with the new MFRE 2020 cohort. Not only did we receive talented students, but also proactive and enthusiastic learners. Three students registered as a group last week for this fall’s Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) trading challenge. This special project is part of their lab “Introduction to Commodity Trading” with trading professional Nishant Kalia, who will be guiding the students in the endeavour.

Throughout the challenge, the students will be able to manage a simulated $500,000 account by trading futures and options on securities, foreign exchange, and commodities. They will be making daily transactions until November 1st. Every year, more than 500 groups register from universities all around the world and compete for cash prizes of up to $2,000 USD per student and an opportunity to visit the CME headquarters. The MFRE team wishes these students the best of luck in every trade.
